It has been years since I was looking for an espresso machine.
I was introduced to a popular machine through a friend.
It produced an excellent espresso.... so I wanted one but too pricey for me and it uses a 54mm portafilter.

Enter the Gevi Ezbru 1000.
Wow!

Got one.

Could not be happier.

It checked all the boxes for me:
- 58mm portafilter
- pre-infusion
- PID or automatic temp control
- compact
- build quality is very high...similar to the popular machine I referred to above
- 1 year warranty (extended 6 months for free)
- great price (particularly for an espresso machine using a 58mm portafilter)

Straight out of the box, it produced excellent expresso.
Very straightforward operation.
Fantastic espresso (did I say that already?)
Stream wand works very well.
Minimal wait time for the machine to warm up (maybe 1 min)
Puts a smile on my face each time I drink my espresso/latte.

Notes:
- I got a better tamper since the one that came with the machine is lacking.
- a dosing cup; to make life easier for me
- metal puck screen; to get consistency plus my used espresso pucks end up dry
- You will need a grinder that can grind for espresso

All and all I highly recommend this machine.

I am a long-time Breville user, and I recently gave my Breville machine to my brother. He wanted a machine with a built-in grinder to save countertop space in his kitchen. So, I ordered the beautiful Gevi EZBru 1000 from Amazon. It arrived very quickly and in very nice packaging.

Inside the triple box packaging, I received the espresso machine, an aluminum 58mm double spout three-ear portafilter with a plastic handle, a milk frother, two sets of pressurized baskets (single and double), two sets of non-pressurized baskets (single and double), a nicely weighted plastic tamper, a coffee scoop, and a user manual. The exterior shell of the machine is a mix of metal and plastic, with a special coating that helps prevent it from becoming a fingerprint magnet. Unfortunately, because of this coating, magnetic tools like WDT tools or portafilter hangers dont stick to the side or front of the machine.

The drip tray is very large and super easy to clean. I recommend emptying and cleaning the drip tray at the end of each day. This machine has everything I was looking for in an espresso machine at this price range. It comes with a 58mm group head, a PID, and pre-infusion. These features are essential for any modern espresso machine.

I do wish the machine had a three-way solenoid valve, but I can live without it. The Gevi EZBru 1000 has only a power button (with auto power-off after 15 minutes of inactivity) and a rotary dial to select between single shot, double shot, steam, and hot water. You can also program the single and double shot timers to your liking. The machine warms up quicklynot as fast as my Breville, but fast enough for me. The steam wand has a purge function, which works great, and I can steam milk to a frothy consistency with excellent results.

Like with every espresso machine, regardless of price or brand, you need to practice and go through a bag of freshly roasted beans to dial it in to your liking. If you dont get a good outcome at first, just keep trying until you develop your own workflow with the machine. I paired this machine with an excellent grinder, which helped me make amazing drinks for the whole household.

All in all, this is an excellent budget machine for home baristas, and I highly recommend it.

Makes delicious espresso. It is super easy to use thanks to the pre-set dial. It also steams milk with ease. AND it looks great on my counter. I feel like a real grown up with this machine in my house!

I've never used an espresso machine before this one is easy to use a simple dial that is pretty self-explanatory makes a good hot frothy espresso with a year warranty which is reassuring and tech support as needed. Pretty happy with this machine.
