How to Properly Maintain Your Ice Maker

After using the ice maker many times, minerals and stains will accumulate on the inner side and some parts of the ice machine. Ice makers can become clogged with mineral deposits, which can interfere with the ice-making process and lead to decreased performance. If left unchecked, this scale can eventually damage the ice maker. 

So, as a general rule of thumb, it's best to clean your ice maker at least once a month. Most ice makers come with a self-cleaning cycle, add water and ice maker cleaner/descaler to the water reservoir, then click the cleaning button, the ice maker will run a full cycle cleaning. This quick and easy process will help to remove any dirt, limescale, or mineral deposits that may have built up, and ensure your ice maker is always sanitary and free of bacteria. Ice will taste even better.

To clean the ice maker, simply follow the manufacturer's instructions:

Step 1: Remove the ice basket 

Step 2: Add water and cleaner to the water reservoir

Step 3: Press the cleaning button from the control panel & let the ice maker clean itself

Step 4: Discharge the dirty water for the first time

Step 5: Refill clean water to clean again

Step 6: Discharge the dirty water for the second time

We suggest refilling clean water and running the cleaning cycle several times for a deep clean. Ice machine cleaners can purchase online.
